graphite on paper, 11x14"
To be honest, I wasn't overly inspired with this assignment compared to my "nephron forest" (my initial sketches are equally uninspired, so I shall spare you, dear reader ;D). Perhaps it was a mistake to try to draw the details of every single little cell (talk about tedious work!) - I'm not too thrilled with the overall result. The perspective also got a bit wonky... Ah well, we shall see where the final pathology illustration takes me!
PS. Happy Turkey Day! :)

I think the detail is great and it is beautifully rendered. I'm just wondering why you decided to show the progression from right to left? was that part of the instructions or did it just seem more natural to you to organize it that way?
O__O My goodness woman! The details! The beautiful details @.,@!!! I especially love how u did the inner side of shiny juicy cysts :D
@ Andreea: That's a good point - I forgot to flip it the other way. I personally have no issues with reading from right to left (Asian thing?!) but it makes more sense the other way around. :)
@ Minyan: I didn't mean to do so much detail, but I started and well, this is what it became... I only picked this topic so that I could render shiny, juicy cysts! Mwahaha! :D
As a reader of manga scanlations, I can sort of relate? :p
Great job Joyce...:)
I thought it was Ovarian follicles at first...that would be really cool too! Depicting ovulation in this way :D
u hv good artwork here...
@ Andreea: Haha! I have this odd habit of flipping through books/magazines from right to left. Only when I'm flipping/perusing, though...
@ Cyndy: Thanks! There are a couple people drawing ovary/uterus pathologies as well!
@ Triton: Thank you for your visit! :)
